Press release (Brevard, NC) – Steve Owen & Associates has announced that Ann Sharpsteen has joined the Steve Owen team as a Broker Associate. Vice President Jeremy Owen explains, “We are delighted to have Ann as the newest member of our family here at Steve Owen,” adding that the addition of Sharpsteen to the team also marks the roll-out of a joint partnership between the two. “Ann has endeared herself to our community as someone who loves Brevard, an ambassador of sorts with her blog, and we’re excited to announce this new partnership and projects we’re going to roll out together this coming year.” Owens says the focus of joint projects will be to showcase Brevard in a fun and interactive way to local residents and fans of Brevard around the world via online, radio, social media, and a t-shirt campaign.

Sharpsteen, who moved to Brevard in 2010, has become known as the local blogger of the “I Love Brevard” blog (www.ilovebrevardblog.com) that focuses on her love of Brevard and the surrounding area. Since December 2010 when the blog launched, it has gained a following of Brevard residents and visitors, and has received visits and emails from over 76 countries. “I’ve said for years, I believe Brevard is the best place in the world to live,” says Sharpsteen. “I call it the “#1 Coolest Small Town in America” on my blog, and I really believe it is.”

The partnership between Sharpsteen and Steve Owen is set to kick off Thursday, February 13, 2014 with the launch of an “I Love Brevard” radio show on 1240 WSQL, sponsored by Steve Owen & Associates and hosted and produced by Sharpsteen. The show will air weekly Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. “The show will be fun and interactive, include great music, and will focus on the big love we all share for Brevard.”

Residents of Brevard and visitors will be the stars of the radio show. Local residents will be featured in weekly “Brevardian of the Week” profile segments and invited to appear as guests on the show. Sharpsteen says she looks forward to the fun to come. “The last time I did a radio show in Brevard, I had some great guests on-air: Keith Urban, Donald Trump, Darius Rucker, Donny Osmond. I can’t wait to see what kind of fun we have this time!” she says.

Jeremy Owen explains the partnership will also include a campaign of “I Love Brevard” t-shirts to be given away during a series of contests and promotions. The t-shirts will also be available for sale with all proceeds going to benefit the Heart of Brevard.

Owen, who was recently named “Realtor of the Year” of the Brevard Board of Realtors, says the public is invited to the first “I Love Brevard” party to be held Thursday, February 27 from 4 to 6 p.m. in The Lobby located at 23 S. Broad Street. “We’re looking forward to everyone coming out and celebrating simply what a terrific community we live in. We’re blessed.”

The partnership will also include expansion of the “I Love Brevard” blog, including addition of more video, as well as focus on area camps during the summer and build-out of the @ilovebrevard Twitter presence.

Prior to her move to North Carolina, Sharpsteen worked as a TV writer/producer and journalist, and is the former national “Head Mom” figurehead for E.W. Scripps media company. Brevard’s focus on family is a large reason why she says she chose to move to Brevard in the first place. “Brevard is a family-oriented town, and a wonderful place to raise children.” Sharpsteen’s 14-year-old son, Matt, attends Brevard Middle School.
