Blue Ridge Bakery classes for January/February

I’m trying to decide which class to sign up for… I adore Blue Ridge Bakery!  For more information or to sign up, call the bakery at (828) 883-8444.

Tuesday, January 17 & Wednesday, January 18:

Back by popular demand!  Walnuts with parmesan butter, roasted chicken with pancetta and herbs, roasted root vegetables, homemade pappardelle noodles with ragu Bolonese.  Wonderful, hearty food for a cold winter’s night.   $35.00

Tuesday, January 24:
King Cakes
Celebrate Mardi Gras in style this year!  Learn how to make authentic King cake dough, then stuff with your favorite fillings; cream cheese, cherry, apricot, or just plain old cinnamon/sugar.  The result is a beautiful coffee cake that tastes good year round.  Let the good times roll!   $35.00

Cake Pops!
Come see what the new rage is in bakeries across the nation….Cake pops!  They are bite sized cakes on a stick, usually dunked in chocolate and decorated in cute, fun ways.  Let your imagination soar, or just decorate by our examples.  Either way, you’ll have fun and learn some neat decorating ideas.  $35.00

Tuesday, February 21 & Wednesday, February 22:
Indian Food
One of my favorite cuisines!  We will learn how to make a basic chicken curry, a basic side dish with paneer, and we will even make our own naan (an Indian  flatbread.  The spices you learn to cook with in this class will help you to create your own Indian style dinners whenever you want.

Tuesday, February 28:
Greek Main Dishes
We have done many variations of this class, and they have always been fun.  This time, we will make moussaka, (a Greek casserole with eggplant, beef and topped with a béchamel), souvlaki (chicken & pork) and one of my favorite dishes, youvarelakia,  meatballs cooked in broth with an egg-lemon sauce.
