The secret is finally out!… now no one can say I can’t keep a secret… I’ve been super mum about this project, but it’s finally been announced! If you’ve ever fancied yourself a star in your own mind and if you have big love for Brevard, listen up! Casting calls for Brevard very own web series are – mark your calendars – September 7th and 9th next week. Go to Heart of Brevard’s web site for casting call application and details. Or, stop me in the street (or at Quotations, my satellite office – ha!) and I’ll give you all the details. xo
… my sweet friend Kim Provost, owner of Hunters & Gatherers (pictured on the right here), serving up some wild concoction drink tonight at Gallery Walk… which if I hadn’t had a glass of, I would be able to remember the name of her friend and employee pictured here (on the left) with her. :-) Notice the “I Love Brevard” t-shirts in the background!
… she knew I was tied up with Matt this afternoon and wouldn’t have time to make dinner, so she sent over dinner in a basket… homemade meatloaf, McCall’s sweet corn, tomatoes, squash casserole, and brownies! Daddatz said he felt like Little Red Riding Hood bringing it over! Thanks, Mom… xo
… this is Bridget from Razor’s Edge and she cut my hair today (first time ever getting my hair cut in Brevard)… whew, and I’m so glad I no longer have to drive all the way to Asheville to get my hair cut… :-) Thanks, Bridget!
The Razor’s Edge 210 N. Broad St., Brevard NC (828) 862-8880
Like me, have you ever wondered what the inside of the old Angelique Inn (at 408 S. Caldwell St.) looks like? Well, I got the chance today to get a peek inside… and it’s a beautiful old Victorian with loads of character!… check out the pictures! It’s still for sale, by the way… for around $300,000.
… only the best “all natural & no preservatives”corn for our squirrels! I used to feed them shelled peanuts from Ingles ($7.98/bag that lasted 3-4 days), but switched to this corn from Ace Hardware ($2.19/bag that lasts three weeks)… that’s a $56/month savings!
… the old Grover’s Supply space on Main Street… I think this would be a perfect place for Poppies to relocate (do not get me started on the tacky way they’re being forced out of their current store space on Asheville Highway)… I for one, will not be shopping at the organic foods store that’s moving in to Poppie’s old space. Was anyone else offended by that article in the paper this week where the owner of the old Popppie’s location was interviewed? Wow, in the span of what was probably a 5-minute interview, he likely succeeded in offending the entire community of Brevard. Way to get the community excited about a new store… not.
… Louie’s afternoon at Mountain Mutts getting groomed was (much to my relief) a great experience… and he looks fantastic to boot! :-) Tomorrow it’s Lucas’ turn for a bath and grooming. Looks like we have a terrific new groomer here in Brevard… yay!! :-)
… enjoyed lunch sitting beside these beautiful flowers out in front of Quotations… with Marlaine and Louie (his first time at a restaurant, he was such a good boy!… sat in his chair and everything)…. :-)
… I’m finally able to take Louie in for a bath and grooming (after all his surgeries recently)… yay! And I’m opting for a Brevard groomer this coming week for both Louie & Lucas (as opposed to the hour-away Asheville groomer we’ve been going to), but I admit I’m a bit nervous. I had to smile though while checking out the web site of “Mountain Mutts” … they offer “blueberry facials” for dogs… too funny… and only $5! :-) Stay tuned… I’ll let you know how it goes!
… where else (besides in Brevard) can you do your work in front of a waterfall?… Matt & Matt swam while I worked… all fun and games until “Matt 1” came face-to-face with a copperhead snake…. everyone out of the water!
