…today is the anniversary of the death of my sweet friend, Vivian, who was married to Johnny Cash. Together we wrote I Walked the Line. She taught me a lot about life and protecting my family. It’s a good day, I suppose, to re-share this video that my friend, Jenny Crawford, produced after Vivian’s death. While Johnny was in the Air Force and stationed in Germany (before his music career), he recorded this record for Vivian and sent it to her. One one side, he spoke to her (and that spoken audio serves as the basis of this video), and on the other side he played his guitar and sang to her (a song that would later have an ironic/spooky connection to their future lives).
…Fyi, this thrift store behind Wells Fargo in Brevard is in no way associated with Habitat for Humanity and the Habitat ReStore. The new Transylvania Habitat ReStore moved from that location over a year ago, and is at 690 Ecusta Road. You will get a tax receipt for donations made at the Habitat Restore… however, you will not at this for-profit thrift store. Unfortunately, there’s been some confusion from people dropping off Habitat donations at the old location.
